“Bodiam Castle really has a wooden walkway to the the door, but it looked so dull and hid some of the beautiful entry way, so I turned it into a path bordered with small flowers and added flowers in the foreground to brighten up the path.”

“Castles have always fascinated me! My collection of photos from friends and relatives has been growing since I was very young. Occasionally I have added my own landscapes, flowers, birds and small animals to create beauty and depth in the paintings. This painting is filled with tulips as they were blooming. I did remove  some buildings to the right of the castle to bring a more  majestic role to the castle.”

 “For centuries, prisoners were incarcerated in the  dungeon of Caesar’s Tower and the unfortunate ones  were lowered in the oubliette, a tiny underground cell  where lives were left to perish, forgotten by their  jailers. After an extensive 19th century renovation, the  castle boasted beautiful gardens and grandly appointed  rooms.”
