(Twelve foot waterfall behind Springfield Oregon Depot). Branching
from the middle fork of the Willamette River, the Mill Race meanders
westward from rural landscape to industrial areas and back to the
river. In early days (1852 development), the Mill Race powered
flour mills and saw mills that established the city's economic
base.
