Gloriosia Daisies & Painted Lady

Last summer I captured the sunshine and shadows
on the flowers in my garden. Gloriosa Daisies, Rudbeckia hirta,
also called the Black-eyed Susan, produce a large number of showy
flowers over a long period. They have flowers up to 5 inches in
diameter in a wide range of yellow, brown, mahogany and bicolor
tones and combinations. They are splendid for garden display and
for use as cut flowers.
Painted Lady Butterflies are found anywhere, especially
flowery meadows, parks, and mountain tops. Despite its inability
to overwinter in any stage above a certain undetermined latitude,
the Painted Lady is perhaps the most widespread butterfly in the
world, found throughout Africa, Europe, Asia and many islands,
as well as in North America. Unlike the Monarch's annual round-trip
outings, the movements of the Painted Lady are essentially one-way.
